By starting in Brynmawr you avoid the steep hill. From the A465 round-about take the Beaufort turn, then first right into King Edward Road, right again at the top, cross over the A465 on a road bridge, pass a school entrance on your left, take the next left turn and keep going for 3 miles on the level along the old dram road. This route provides the easiest driving.
